Nihal Konar Naş
Born in 1977 in Adapazari. She graduated from
Economics Dept. of Marmara University Faculty of
Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1998
and completed her Master of Business
Administration degree at İstanbul Bilgi
University in 2007. She worked 13 years in the
private sector. She is currently studying
sculpture at Marmara University Faculty of Fine
Arts.
Her poems have been published periodically in a
literary magazine named "Sözcükler" since 2008.
She is drawing illustrations and writing stories
for children's books. Her first children book
“Seahorse Country” was published by Nesin
Yayınevi (http://www.nesinyayinevi.com)
in 2010 and was chosen by the Turkish Ministry
of Culture and Tourism to be distributed to 400
public libraries countrywide. All the revenue
from this title goes to the Nesin Foundation.
Her stories titled "Open My Eyes" and “Paper
Babies” were chosen to be published in “Olympus
Stories” and “Book of 90’s” -- collection of
stories from young generation novelists
published by Yitik Ülke Publication (http://www.yitikulkeyayinlari.com).
She believes that the most precious treasure
that could be given to a child is the habit of
reading.
